Stages

Does Fibromyalgia have stages? Mine seems to be getting worse but I thought it didn't advance. Although, I'm not sure how it wouldn't.

I have had fibro for 15 years. I find that certain aspects of this disease change throughout. When I initially became ill I was almost bedridden as every joint
And muscle was either painful or weak. The exhaustion was also at its worst. After time the pain has found its favorite places to live and the fatigue is still a major issue. The tender points developed a year or so after the illness reared it’s ugly head and they remain constant but are worse. In a nut shell, I am not better than 15 years ago
just different. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you that it gets better or goes away. I can tell you to pace yourself, eat clean, sleep is very important. There are good days and they are what keep me going. Maybe some other followers on the site can shed a brighter light on their experience. Love yourself. Never give up hope. Life is a beautiful thing. Hugs

From my experience with this disease, it's gotten worse for me. It seems like every year I get a new Fibro symptom. My main symptom is my shoulders and upper back feel like someone's holding a blow torch to me all day. This last year it feels like that sensation has now gone into my hips and groin. When is enough actually enough??

I feel it goes around in a cycle. Sometimes my depression is worse for a couple of weeks, then the sleep disruption would flare but that seems under control but now the pain is awful. When that becomes better the depression will flare again and so on. This has been going on for years, that's what we live with, an eternal cycle.

@A MyFibroTeam Member it is a tiring fight and every day is a challenge but find beauty and satisfaction in the small things, we all expect a lot from life until we are struck down and we despair, the emotional strain is just as bad as the physical and people who treat your illness with such distain should be ashamed of themselves. I hope you keep finding the strength to keep fighting on god bless and good luck.

Some things have improved as I've learned more how to take care of myself, but I can't stop the aging process which will exacerbate some symptoms. But I'm not going to worry too much about it, but take it a day at a time. ❤
