I am looking into trigger point injections and dry needling. I would like to know what experience you may have with this.

Hi there. I received 2 trigger point injections back in 2012. I cannot find another place that will do it. Let me tell you- it may not be like this for everyone but i had both injections done in my pelvic trigger points. The doctor told me it was like my body was going through natural child birth. I was in so much pain it was ridiculous. Ive never had pain that intense. But once the actual medicine was injected all the spasms stopped and i didnt struggle for about 2 weeks after that.

I recently had dry needling done in my shoulder muscles. Helped a ton! But, it only helped in the muscles. I came in 2 weeks later (my physical therapist is the one that did it) and I was having a flare and asked if the dry needling would help, she explained that it doesnt help with the pain i was having at that time because it was more neurological then muscular. BUT with having said that, i had so much tension in my shoulder muscles from being so tense all the time from being in pain that it did help relieve some of the pain. If only they could dry needle for the nerve pain!!! :( It did hurt when she did it a bit, but the 5 min of pain for the relief I have had just in my shoulder muscles i would recommend it.

when you use dry needles pain can last for a few weeks cause blood flow is entering back into the muscle it almost feels like a bruise inside but after a few months you will feel better
