How Do You Keep Calm About New Aches And Pains? I'm Always Worrying About Cancer.

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lincoln, NE

My mind immediately jumps to leukemia or lymphoma because deep bone pain is a symptom and I get a deep ache in my arms and legs often. Then it just gets worse bc my anxiety revs up.

You are having regular Fibro symptoms. Do not worry about getting cancer. It runs through my family and I lost my Mom to Pancreatic Cancer, another Maternal Aunt to Breast Cancer and my cousin survived a cancer that appears like your pregnant, and my Mom's oldest sister survived Melanoma. It does not help to worry about it. It robs the happiness you have in life and I see you are young. Your symptoms are normal. It is best to be thankful and happy that you are alive and that you do not have a disease that will kill you just cause mountains of pain. You have a lot of ways out their to help with it. I just had a left S1 joint injection for the second time because last time it made me worse, but the doctor tried it at a different angle and I feel great on the lower back. I neck will probably be next. Look at the ocean in your picture, you have beauty all around you including yourself. If you ever get cancer I would like you to be strong like those inspiring children who have to deal with cancer which some are born with. Enjoy everyday, be thoughtful and helpful to others and show God's love and you will be blessed. If you know the Lord the worse that can happen is you meet him and have no pain anymore. So count your blessings each day. You do not need to waste them on fear and worrying. We all love and care about you. We are praying for you. I hope that looking at it from a different angle will help you. Enjoy any little thing that comes in life and you will start to feel joy. If you believe in Jesus he will be with you through all your pain. The Holy Spirit will give you the strength that you do not have yourself. I love you all and I have no right to worry about me when you all are struggling too. So I don't. My focus is on encouraging you all to be strong and enjoy what you can in life. Even with major pain I can list pages of things to be thankful for or enjoy.

I get the same deep bone pain as you and @ @A MyFibroTeam Member
I was very active 20 or so years ago with sport. I played basketball 6-8 games a week and fid ballroom dancing.
So I totally understand what the deep bone pain feels like.
Hugs to you

Thank you! This group is so nice for people like us- I feel like if I say any of this stuff to my 'healthy' friends they will think I am crazy! I have gone to a therapist and it helps some. You have to find the right one for you. Sometimes I wonder if it's really just thyroid problems since hypothyroidism can cause the muscle pains and all that and I've read in some places that the tests they use are not totally accurate. This disease makes you rethink everything your doctor does or tells you. There's just always that voice "Well, what if he's wrong or he missed something."

Thanks everyone for your reassuring words. It's so hard to know if it is just the anxiety triggering fibro or something else trigging the anxiety which triggers fibro. It's a vicious cycle.
