Does Anyone Else Feel Like They Are Covered In Fiberglass

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

For almost a month now whenever I have clothes on I feel like I am covered in fiberglass and itch like crazy
I've tried taking benadryl but it doesn't help
Does anyone have any other ideas?

You can get a strong antihistamine from your Doctor it's called Telfast. Hope this helps.

I itch all of the time. I've come to accept it. It's especially on my face and head. I also have a big rash across my back. I put Aquaphor on it and it helps take the itching away.

I’m always itchy. Remember “Itchy Brother” on the Pepi LePew cartoon? Well I’m itchy sister.

I have sensitive skin & know what you mean. I have always used the "free & clear" type of detergents so that's not my issue. I cant wear certain fabrics or fabric blends or it will feel like I'm wearing fiberglass or razors are cutting me. I can wear cotton or cotton blends, my favorite is a blend with stretch to it. I usually buy clothes that are larger than my official "size" with elastic waist bands on the pants/shorts/etc and no longer than 3/4 length loose sleeves on the shirts & no tight collars or cuffs.I can wear some shirts with designs on them but i have to be very careful in my selections, some designs really hurt my skin (embroidery backing, lace & metallic thread are the worst). When I'm in a flare the symptoms are worse. Sometimes I cant stand for any type of material to be touching my skin. At those times its T-Shirts & shorts.

I hope this helps.
Gentle Hugs,
LizzyT
