Members connected over concerns about dental problems potentially linked to fibromyalgia, with many sharing experiences of teeth breaking, chipping, crumbling, or needing extraction, though opinions were divided on whether fibromyalgia itself causes these issues or if they stem from medication side effects, dry mouth, or family history. Several members offered practical self-care strategies including regular dental cleanings every three months, rinsing with hydrogen peroxide or saltwater, using specialized toothpastes and rinses like Tom's of Maine and Natural Dentist, taking vitamin D3 and CoQ10 supplements, and managing dry mouth with products like Biotene spray. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of losing control over one's own body, the financial burden of crowns and implants, and the suggestion to get tested for related conditions like Sjogren's disease that can affect oral health.

My teeth are ok but nerve pain in my head & face make my teeth ache. My dentist says my teeth are fine but inflammation in my gums could affect them. I take vitamin D but dont absorb it very well but nobody seems to know why.

An increase in Vitamin D3 has helped me tremendously. My gums used to bleed terribly when I'd get my teeth cleaned, but it is no longer a problem. Your Dr. can do blood test to check your Vitamin D level. Hope this is helpful.
