@A MyFibroTeam Member My hubby has the same problem and he won't wear hearing aids. He has had the test and we were told that for only $1800. he too could be free of tinnitus and his hearing would improve. We gasped and walked out of the office, went home, checked amazon.com and found two "sound amplifiers" for only $19.95 - price even included batteries. We placed the order + added more batteries - just in case. I had to persuade him to wear one of the "sound amplifiers" in the worst ear as he thought he'd look stupid. But, guess what? A week into his finally wearing one the tinnitus has backed off and he can hear - very well, as long as he has the bud in his ear. I read somewhere that tinnitus was caused by the little hairs at the back of one's ear vibrating. I've no idea if that is actually the case but for less than $20.00 we solved a big problem.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Thank you for the link, I listened to the different Tinnitus sounds, and mine is the most like #2. Anyone who goes to listen to them should turn their speakers down low as the sounds can be very loud & annoying. I'll have my husband listen to them too so he can tell me which one his sounds like.
I highly recommend a white noise machine to mask the tinnitus & be able to fall asleep easier. God bless.

White noise machine for sleeping and my ENT recommended over the counter “ lipo flavanoid plus”. It’s mostly B vitamins and they are not even sure why it helps, but it does. Didn’t eliminate mine but definitely lessened it and lowered the volume. I get it cheapest at Walmart. Hope this helps!

I have tinnitus in both ears & it is considered an early sign of hearing loss. I hear it mostly when all is quiet, but also after I have been around a lot of noise, loud voices, loud TV, music, etc.. then they ring really loud. So I try to stay away from excessively loud noise (when possible). My husband has it in one ear, so years ago I bought him a white noise machine so he could sleep, it works very well. I have only used Melatonin for sleep, but it didn't help. There is currently no actual cure for Tinnitus, just ways to help it become less annoying.

Melatonin is for sleep regulation. Tinnitus has more to do with things like stress, salt intake, other meds, caffeine, etc.
