Unable To Work At 28 And Terrified

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello,

So lately I have been extremely terrified about the present and the future. I have had symptoms for years now but back in January is around the time that things really started getting bad to the point where I put in my two weeks notice at my job where I worked as a nurse aide. I worked there for 8 months and it is the only time I have had a full time job in my entire life. Fibro (and possibly MCTD, still being tested) has affected me in just about every area of my life but work was… read more

I completely understand what you are going through. Im 38 yrs old, diagnosed at 30 and finally 3 years ago I left my job as a Juvenile Probation officer after going to Duke University. Medical center. I loved my job. Have a bachelors Degree. I finally decided last year to file for disability. I waited thinking I could get better. I feel embarrassed to tell people cause I worked so hard to get where i was in life. Disability is there for people who are disabled and you definitely should apply. They will have you sign a release for medical records. Ask your dr for help before you have to hire an attorney. Of course an attorney can help too. Good Luck m

Been self employed my entire life still am but applied for disability because i cant work enough hours to even rent a room never mind buy my diabetic supplies each month. Being on disability isn't great it is a below poverty level monthly income and requires a LOT of figuing out how to make it stretch as far as possible like any other kin wage income would/does.
I put in my application after i had my case worker say that over the padt 6 monrhs shed known me see me actually get worse at our monthly meets.
If u are autistic that can be used as one of the primary reasons for applicetion on top of communicstion issues. Im in the spectrum.

Thank you @A MyFibroTeam Member. Can you list two or more reasons as primary? Or does one have to sort of take preacedence over the other? Also, I know to obtain the medical records from all those doctors but how do you ask them if they will support you in applying? And if it’s a doctor I no longer see? Sorry so many questions. Thanks for replying 💜💜
