I have been diagnosed with fibro since the mid 90s after tearing a tendon in my elbow. last year I had four procedures. left and right thumbs, left and right wrist and right shoulder. The surgeries were all due to inflammatory related issues. I take lyrica, cymbalta, meloxicam and hydrocodone as needed for pain. I find it just dulls the sharp edges of my pain. I also visit a chiropractor bi-monthly. I still have difficulty with simplified tasks such as dressing, preparing meals, walking, standing, sitting for a period on certain chairs etc. My pet peeve is people saying, "Why don't you take" such and such, "I heard it works for pain or inflammation." Is anyone experiencing the offers from"mean-wellers that have no clue about the effects of this condition?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Back in October, I had severely inflamed my upper calves. Since then my right calf has hurt off and on after walking for a moderate distance. Now I'm laid up because my calf started hurting me again this padt Wed and gets worse any time I walk on it. I saw a dr at an emergency room and after a couple of tests she tells me it might be a bruise or slight tear, but if it doesn't go away it could be the ligaments, and only an MRI would show that. It hasn't gone away.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I have noticed that in the 24 years I've had fibro, whenever I have a flare, my other conditions, such as osteoarthritis, and gastrointestinal tract problems seem much more painful. I don't have an auto-immune disease, but I don't think it much matters. Your fibro probably makes the tendonitis feel worse just because your more sensitized. πŸ’–

Im confused Though as inflammation/swelling is not recognised as acsymptom of fibro - well some medical people do but others medical schools of thought say inflammation does not occur. Although fibro effects the joints tendins and muscles. I also have an auto immune disorder that causes swelling and tendonitis so maybe its this but others with fibro seem to experience joint swelling/tendinitis and its ys who know the symptoms. I notice during a flare up my tendinitis abd joint swelling is wirse.
