Has Anyone Been Approved For Disability In Ohio For Fibromyalgia? Was It A Tough Fight?
I am considering applying for disability in Ohio for my fibromyalgia and arthritis in both thumbs which affects everything I do..just curious if anyone else has been through this...thank you!!
I am on it but in Canada. Just would like to tell you if you apply it is their job to make you go away. They say no first time. I fought for 4 years and won my case.
You are correct, I had to think about it after reading your comment. It is federal, did your son appeal in the supreme court? We went all the way to the supreme court, when he was turned down from them he re- filed and was approved then. But we didn't have to appeal over and over up to the supreme court the second time.
Now that I think about it, disability is federal not state provided. Sorry for my mistake. Thank you for your input
I thought the federal government paid disability and not the state. My son has tried three times just like your husband. Went before the judge and now has to refile. Judge told him if he went for a review and lost that he wouldn't be able to file again.
Louisiana is state and my husband filed for disability. He had lost his CDL and medical card because he had a mini stroke while driving and his blood pressure was uncontrollably high. He had several stinks, heart attacks. He was denied, got the SS attorney and he was denied again, went in front of the judge and he was denied again. (Also found out that the judge hated the attorney). Went as high as he could and it was around 4 years. He had to reapply and he was approved on the first try. Louisiana is broke and I think part of it was that they didn't want to pay the back pay and with him have to reapply he was not able to get that. That is one of the reasons I am afraid to quit my job and file myself. There are a few people here that have fibro and got on disability but it is just a few. BUT like I said Louisiana is broke.
