Has Anyone Had Diagnostic Facet Joint Block Done. It Is A Recommendation But Frankly I Am Afraid Of More Pain.
I had ablation surgery on both sides of my neck. It's where they burn the nerve endings between your joints. It was a horrible mistake. My neck is in more pain than before. I also have this hard spot between the sides of my neck that feels like an old thick piece of leather. Don't do it. Good luck. Nickx
I've had the facet joint block and I don't recommend having it done unless your desperate. The epidural block directly into the nerve where your pain is stemming from is the only relief I have received. The ablation surgery was a huge mistake and one I regret daily.
I've had the ablation done twice. 1st time pain abated for almost 11 months, 2nd time no help. It does sever the nerves where it is done at, but your nerves do regenerate, which is why is doesn't last forever and works for different lengths of time for different people or not at all (if Dr. severs nerve that isn't causing issue, it doesn't help) I've had over 50 epidurals and at least 30 facet shots and 2 back surgeries with and without hardware. Please try an inverted table and therapy, it can be very helpful for you.
