Missed The Bus To Land Of Nod

So as many of you will relate to. I have trouble sleeping; whether that be due to leg spasms, pain or general inability to switch off. A friend of my cousin who has fibro recommended amytriptyline. Can anyone give me some insight if they have used it? Or other recommendations to help get some sleep?

Also if anyone else has random leg spasms, how do you deal with it/make it stop? I've had them last an entire night before on and off and I have no idea what to do about it

Ropinirole (brand name requip) helps my husband immensely with his restless leg syndrome.

I'm on amytriptyline and it definitely has helped me to sleep better.

I've been on trepilene for 15 years and my dosage now is 125 mg. The doctor explained that it makes you sleep. It is also an anti-depressant and pain killer. I attribute my weight gain on this medication even though the Rheumatologist denies it. I grew from size 34 to 44 size.

I have used it also. I ended up on to much of it and had bad side effects. I just switched to nortriptyline and no side effects at all. They are both Tryciclic antidepressants and older meds and help stay asleep. Good luck!
