My Husband And I Both Have Fibromyalgia. He Started Having Symptoms About 2-3 Years After Me. Anyone Else?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Both of us being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia within 2-3 years of each other seems weird and strange. Has anyone else experienced this? We have been married for 36 years. He spent a year doing a great deal around the house as well as working full time, when I had to quit. We are just wondering how weird we truly are?

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I think they are at least looking at the right virus but need a different antiviral for us. You may have had mono when you were younger. When I asked people if they had mono, if they said no, I asked if they remember a time of being exhausted (sleeping alot) and maybe a sore throat for a couple of weeks in there life. Most did. I was sleeping 22 hours a day for 2 weeks when I had mono. I think mine was severe. Anyway, I hope they continue to research the antiviral for us. Good luck to you and your husband.

I believe fibro comes from the Epstein Barr virus. I have had fibro since I was 21 and had mono at 16 and within a year of having fibro I figured out that anyone I talked to with fibro also had mono at some point in their lives. Medical medium on Facebook is someone who has researched fibro for years and also believes that eb virus is the culprit. Look him up. His articles are very interesting. Good luck to both of you and I hope your husband is able to continue to work to keep both of you insured.

These viruses harbor innthe low spine until they become active. Fibromyalgia makes it worse.

This is indeed strange.
I have heard of being genetically predisposed to fibromyalgia, but I have never heard of this. There is a theory and research claiming that fibromyalgia is viral in origin. It can lay dormant until some event ignites the onset.
Are both of you experiencing the same symptoms and triggers?

My husband is the glue. I couldn’t imagine both of us going through this. In another perspective it must be different that he has a true understanding. It is hard for mine to understand the pain aspect. He just know by the glaze in my eyes what and where I need to be- bed!
