Have Any Of You Done Foam Rolling As A Treatment For Your Pain?
I have been seeing a personal trainer for the last 3 months and he has introduced me to foam rolling. It hurts soooooo bad when I am rolling but the next day I find some relief and I am not as tight (which is one of the muscle symptoms). I have bought a roller for home and do my legs almost daily. It works to release the miofacia insertion points. Have others had a similar experience?
I recently started getting myofascial release and as you describe, it's super painful and I'm even sore the next day, but it really does help. I have really painful trigger points in my piriformis muscles and butt, and it provides relief for close to a week. The longer you do it the longer the relief is supposed to last.
LindaHuntley keep at it. Yes it hurts, but it gets better with regular use. For me it is almost a sweet pain, I can't explain that but I feel better the next day, and the pain stops as soon as you take the pressure off.
My PT uses a metal blade (not sharp) in a method called Graston Technique for myofacial dysfunction. Hurts like a bear and I haven't really noticed a ton of difference.
Oh yes! When I went to a Chiropractor for pain in my back and hips, he had me use the roller but it was sooo painful I just couldn't do it. I got one for home too but never use it.
Yes! Good!!
