Skin Issues?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else here have constant skin issues? I feel like my skin has never been great-- I have acne (which has dramatically improved with diet changes I'm happy to report!), warts, dry/flaky skin around my eyebrows, I've had shingles... It's so frustrating. Does anyone else deal with these problems? I feel like it's all connected to a weakened immune system, which might be part of why I developed fibro in the first place. Has anyone learned tips or tricks to help it?

Members connected over the shared experience of persistent skin issues like dry, flaky patches, acne, warts, eczema, and recurring shingles, with many expressing frustration at not knowing the root cause. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them, including taking Valtrex at the first sign of shingles symptoms, using callous removers and shavers for cracked heels, running humidifiers and air purifiers to combat dry air, applying KitKat lotion or castor oil for eczema and facial dryness, and making dietary changes to improve acne. A recurring theme was the belief that a weakened immune system may be driving these skin problems, and the constant, exhausting effort required to manage symptoms without a clear solution.

Hi guys, I also suffer from very dry skin, acne and also have eczema on my face... I also can't seem to shake 9ff the acne. And it's on my chin mostly had my hormones tested a few times. It's normal and I am using oral contraceptives... So I don't know why... Weakened immune system I suppose...

Sounds similar to what me and my brother have. Its a kind of face Eczema I used KitKat lotion to heal my skin and my brother use other types of skin steroid treatments because we breakout pretty badly in the winter or summer

Yes I have dry skin patches all over the place, and right now I have some sorta rash that is really itchy and flakey skin on it, that breaks open and bleeds ( it is only in certin places). I have been checked for alergies and changed my diet thinking it was glutin but both were negitive. I just went for a skin biopsy 2 weeks ago, still waiting on the results.
