Does Anyone Have Muscle Pain?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Satellite Beach, FL

My physical therapist was working on my lower back and right ptformis muscle and she said it was super tight. As she massaged it I wanted to scream, I felt as if a knife was going in me. It was so painful. It is still sore and this was 4 days ago. I thought it was my spine hurting in my lower back but she said that was a muscle too.

be careful with the tennis ball ,,sometimes it just makes the inftlamation worse,, having a professional PT work it out along with the right exercises is key

@A MyFibroTeam Member yes, it's a type of massage that also incorporates a bit of movement (depending on the area being worked on). I get it done at a chiropractor's office :) You can also do it yourself with a tennis ball (there are tutorials online) or a foam roller, but I find that having it done professionally works the best for me.

I get piriformis pain in both sides that feel like a being stabbed with an ice pick. Doing sciatica stretches helps a bit, and I get mysofascial release every other week as well, which is excruciating, but helps in the long run. Unfortunately this pain has been going on for many months and nothing can make it go away completely.

I kept getting comments from people massaging me stating how ‘hard’ my neck and shoulders were and just some oddness about my body. I now understand it was Fibro and I know exactly what they mean. I can feel parts of my body have bulked up and my shape has changed. I have learned not to get a deep tissue massage. Last one resulted in Costochondritus for months. That was bad!
