I Have Bursitis In My Hips. The Hip?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My right hip is much worse than my left. Do any of you have Bursitis in the hip? Do you think it is related to your Fibromyalgia? What do you do to relieve the pain?
I will be starting P/T soon. Hoping to get some relief from that. Appreciate any information someone may have.

A good friend of mine had side effects from cortisone shots and cause her cartilage to deteriorate in both of her elbows. Then she needed to fix the damage. So please be careful requesting the "magic shot" and discuss side effects/treatments with your doctor. I know when in terrible pain, we want quick fix, but we need to know the possible side effects of treatments.
"There's concern that repeated cortisone shots might cause the cartilage within a joint to deteriorate. So doctors typically limit the number of cortisone shots into a joint."

Had it. Steroid shot, ice it 2x day. Don’t lay on it when you sleep. It will go away, but it takes a few months unfortunately 🤗🤗🤗

I do. I had an injection and P/T. I don’t personally think it is from fibromyalgia. I have friend who have bursitis and don’t have Fibromyalgia. However having fibromyalgia certainly doesn’t help the situation.

The injection got rid of my pain... I was able to move and sleep on my side afterwards. MD`s do limit the number of injections. Talk to him and see if it's right for you. I had mine misdiagnosed as back pain then had physical therapy on my hip and couldn't walk for 3 days afterwards. I am a big fan of physical therapy and go twice a week myself for muscle spasms in my right quad though, just undereducated MD made initial misdiagnosis.
