Doctors For Fib
Hello, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on good doctors in the tri state area for fibromyalgia. I have gone to a couple, though it is a pretty new diagnosis for me. The doctors that I have seen (physiologist and rheumotologist) pretty much say there's nothing to really do....kind of just the "deal with it" approach...which is obviously pretty frustrating! I live in Westchester, NY, but can go wherever for someone good! Thanks in advance!!!
I googled on internet- fybromyalgia dr. and there it was. this dr. is out of town. I went to see him. It was wonderful to find a dr. that believed in fybro. hoping you find a dr. that can help you.
I have seen several doctors in New York and New Jersey where I live. It seems like their hands are tied because there has been very little research in the field and less in drug research. Fibro is considered an orphan malady. Too few people have it to make drug companies to do research and they realize that the financial remuneration would be small. If the did developers a drug specifically for fibro it would probably cost a fortune. Most of the drugs for fibro like Cymbaltal etc are off label. Meaning they were meant to be used for. Something else
We just have to have faith that someone out there will take a sincere interest in helping patients with fibro. Well wishes to all. Deede
Iām sorry to say that you will probably get the deal with it approach alot. Seems whether you are in Canada or the U.S many physicians seem to have that same attitude. Stay strong and Good luck in your search for someone who cares enough to try to help and support you. š
