Any Specific I Should Be Asking Doctor?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I see my Rheumatologist on Feb, 1. I feel like I should have some questions to ask her but I don't know what to ask. I am on prednisone at the moment but will be asked to be taken off of that... Too many side effects and I can't deal with it. Plus not good for long term.
I'm sorry if this is a little vague, I feel so lost though. Any information or questions will be greatly appreciated.

Definitely write notes in your phone - everyday as to how you feel and track your list of symptoms. My "notes" section on my phone has become part of my brain! If I don't do that, then I get to the doctor and my mind is blank, even though I had a list of things to discuss - I wouldn't be able to remember.
I read your post about the memory problems and school. Honestly, I don't know how I made it through school - I always had memory problems -could't remember what I read! I was diagnosed with fibro in 2017, and the more research I do, the more I understand all of the weird symptoms I have now and while growing up. I am in school again for my job, and am really struggling with the reading and writing of books and papers. When I find some help, I will let you know. Definitely use the suggestions from others - try everything until we find what works for each of us. Blessings.

Make sure to ask the doctor to taper the dose down over a few days or your body won't have enough time to recover. Do a Google search on tapering a dose and at least ask your doctor if you need this or not. Some doctors forget and take one off a dose suddenly and it can cause problems. I am a registered nurse but I do not know your situation. Lesley

I swear I answered this and posted a meme....but I don’t see it now 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s hard for me to answer that when I don’t know what symptoms you suffer from. Fibromyalgia is not a cookie cutter disease, there are several symptoms. You need to talk with the doctor about what health issues you have. I find putting notes in my phone helps before I go to the doctor. That way if I forget something I wanted to ask, I go over my notes. I just have to remember my phone 😬

Thank you so much! And yes I've been keeping lots and lots of notes. Hopefully I don't annoy my doctor to to much. 😅
Yes reading and remembering things have been terrible for a while now. Thanks so much everyone ♥️♥️

Thanks! When I started prednisone she told me how to taper down, and I'm at 5mg a day right now.
