I was a Regist nurse worked in factories 38yrs, doing O H & S- did a lot of sleep counselling.
Do a sleep dairy - get it online, Resmed ( sleep Apn co) has a good one.
there are many reasons why we can't get to sleep, wake up & get back to sleep.
It is normal to wake up during night, most people aren't aware, but are able to get back to sleep- look closely at what wakes you up
e.g. noise, toilet, nightmares, light, hungry, thirsty, dry mouth, anxiously worrying & what stops you from getting B to sleep. Important to understand- is it something mental or physical that is causing it ?

Try relaxation technique of breathing thru imagined big holes in the soles of your feet- I used to teach it for quit smoking, now I can get to sleep anytime in 3-4 breaths, practice 3-4 times per day then when needing it to get to sleep- it takes about 3wks to learn a new habit (& lose a bad one.)
good luck lets know how you go.

I smoke Cannabis before bed. It keeps me asleep all night long. If you dont like the high feeling you can get pills with THC and they start working about an hour and a half after you take it. That gives you time to take it and go to sleep before it kicks in. That will keep you asleep all night. This is only if it is legal where you live or you could do like i did and get a medical marijuana card. Some states allow medical marijuana.
