Claritin D To Reduce Pain Level From Fibro

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone else noticed a reduced pain level from taking Claritin D or any oyher sort of antihistamine?

I am trying to rule something out with my own personal experience. You see I deal with multiple health issues, and I have used Claritin D for P.O.I.S. (post orgasmic illness syndrome). I noticed recently when I take an atihistamine at night for P.O.I.S. or allergies my pain level is lower.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing, and if you feel your fibro pain level… read more

I read an article that says Mast Cell Activation syndrome (MCAS) can cause fibromyalgia. Since I've always been allergic to "everything" I decided to see if that was my issue. The treatment is pretty simple: I started by taking an H1 antihistamine- Claritin (or you can use Allegra, Zyrtec, just Google it.) After 1 week my fibro symptoms were turned way down, my jaw stopped hurting and my headaches went away. Then I added in an H2 antihistamine (Pepcid AC) and started taking both twice a day. After three days I feel like a new person. My knees and shoulders stopped hurting, my energy is way up, back to normal. The only symptom I have left is a little stiffness in hips when standing. Here is the article: https://www.vitality101.com/health-a-z/fibro-se...

BTW MCAS is also suspected in POIS, as well as IBS, POTS, exercise anaphylaxis, and more.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, how did you stay away from Salicylates? I know I wouldn’t be able to to the Guafenesin Protocol, Salicylates are in so many things....like lotion, shampoo, medications, supplements, topical medications, cosmetics etc. I know I wouldn’t religiously read the labels of anything that goes into my mouth or onto my skin.
