Do any of you have Osteoporosis along with fibromyalgia? My doctor wants me to take injections of Forteo. There seem to be many side effects. I would appreciate your feedback.

When I took the oral tablets they gave me problems with my jaw. I was app for Prolia but it can also lead to jaw problems. Forteo is a daily injection in stomach for 2 years. The if you don’t take something else after the 2 years your body is depleted of the Forteo.

The reason for wanting to put me on Forteo is because the multiple rib fractures and plate attached to my ribs a year ago in May during surgery haven’t completely healed.

I've been on the generic Fosamax for 2 years. It's called Alendronate Sodium. I had osteopenia for many years. Gradually became osteoporosis. My mom had very severe osteoporosis. I didn't want to take the medication but the endocrinologist convinced me. I have not had any side effects from it.
