Atopic Dermatitis And Fibromyalgia

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Brighton, ON

Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well. I have a question regarding dermatitis and wondering if anyone has experienced this before. I'm itchy all over my body for no reason that I can think of. It's driving me crazy. 😫

Do anyone here ever experienced this symptom before? Is it allergies or another fibromyalgia symptom? Any recommendations on how to deal with it? So far nothing has helped. I'm at my wits end. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone. Stay safe.

I found this at big lots but the ingredients are fairly standard in other brands. Big lots carries this at a fraction of the price and I was using 1/4 of a tube a day on my arms and legs during the poison ivy episode.

Let me know how it goes ... 🙋‍♀️❄💛⚘

You're very welcome 🙋‍♀️ and yes, prednisone is great for that, thx for bringing that up as thos past summer I had a months long bout of poison ivy and 10 mg 2wice (lol) per day was miraculous. I suffered scarring from it before it was brought under control. Anti histamines didn't work surprisingly.

These 2 products help me year round. There is a 3rd item, a generic anti itch...

Thank you so much for your response straw34. 😊 I've been taking cool baths and using Curel lotion for itch relief. My doctor prescribed prednisone which didn't help the second time I've experienced this symptom. And now I just started Doxepin. We'll see how that goes, but so far it's not helping. Off I go in my cool 😎 bath tub. Brrrr....

Yes, especially in the colder weather and the dry indoors. Lots of natural oil like plain almond or avocado oils, some prefer coconut or olive. Or moisturizers without additives (very few!). Low soap use and avoid hot water. Check all new items like laundry detergents, I prefer ones with no added perfumes and dyes because when my skin does become sensitive and prone to inflammation it doesn't take much to further irritate it.

I hope this helps. It's hard to deal with at times. I'm sure you'll receive a slew of helpful responses 👍❤🙋‍♀️
