What Is Everyones Take On Fibro Being An Autoimmune Disease?
There are new studies out now that they have cornered antibodies related to Fibro and are now almost coming to confirm that Fibro is actually an Autoimmune issue.
Well, autoimmune diseases are supposed to be passed down in the family genes and both my mother and brother have autoimmune conditions. I take after both of them in looks and I've often wondered if Fibro is therefore really autoimmune. It would make sense.
However, I also believe it is neurological in nature and caused by intense stress. Thinking about it, there's no reason why it couldn't be both things. A neurological autoimmune condition. Hopefully, soon, we'll know for sure.
Mark Neubeck, I have wondered the same thing over the years. I've read/heard many things and considered them all in regards to my own past. Excessive/long term stress is one that rings true for me, as does repressed anger/emotions. Genetic predisposition also rings true. A heightened, and now dysfunctional nervous system also seems to be the case. I believe that people get it for various reasons, but that common threads run through us all. Over the years I've found myself mirrored in many psychological books, personality-wise and past experiences. Somehow, everything joins up like a big jigsaw, but I still can't see the full picture. It's like I am too close up, or too far away to make it out. Now, this new autoimmune question adds another piece to the jigsaw.
I’ve always believed this to be an autoimmune disease. No matter what anyone said.
It makes me feel maybe, just maybe, we'll be taken seriously. I know , I know. Plus, explains a lot
Ths does help to explain the up and downs of my WBC during a flair.
