Stress Incontinence

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Huddersfield, UK

Stress incontinence – when urine leaks out at times when your bladder is under pressure; for example, when you cough or laugh.

Urge incontinence – when urine leaks as you feel a sudden, intense urge to pee, or soon afterwards.

Overflow incontinence (chronic urinary retention) – when you're unable to fully empty your bladder, which causes frequent leaking.

Total incontinence – when your bladder cannot store any urine at all, which causes you to pass urine constantly or have frequent leaking.

Hello @A MyFibroTeam Member, it's not mental health problems. Urinary incontinence can happen to anyone whether mentally stable or unstable. It's mostly bladder functioning. Your doctor needs to be compassionate and empathic to humans.. life is less challenging when people are caring, kind and friendly to mankind.

thank u for sharing this. I thought I was the only one having this leakage problem. Embarrassed to ask. I was blaming it on my age. I never knew it could be stress as well. My hubby said to do Kegel Excercise daily. I’m not sure if it will work though

@A MyFibroTeam Member I'm on Myrbetriq (which doesn't work) and I am having a very painful time. I've been on it for over a year after my surgery. tough I've had problems for years, i have hit my tailbone on the edge of a cement stair
It was only after I looked up the side effects that I found out it can cause urine retention. None of my doctors listening to my symptoms would tell me what has been wrong.
I have another medical procedure on the 16th. God bless you
