Lesions On The Brain
Good morning,
Has anyone had an MRI of the brain and found they had lesions (white matter) ?
Does this go with Fibro?
Thank u you ou
A friend of mine has a lesion on her brain and the neurologist told her it was was nothing to be concerned about and was due to aging. She is 70.
Hello Team Member,
Yes! I do. I had a brain MRI in 1994, the first year I fell ill. The MRI revealed increased T-2 signal intensity in the right occipital lobe. This corresponded to multiple 'punctate' lesions on my brain in that area. I had a number of M.S. symptoms and manifestations. Further testing was done, and these evoked response tests did not come back positive for M.S. and because I had a lot of pain this is one reason that led to the Fibromyalgia diagnoses. Also, many people who suffer fibromyalgia have the affliction of F.M. as secondary to other illness. For instance, I turned out to have CFIDS/ME or...Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome or know today as myalgic Encephalomyelitis. I also suffer with MCS or multiple chemical sensitivities. All that said I have a pretty good hunch how and why the lesions were there, if you ever want to hear that explanation, let me know. Sometimes people say that these lesions sometimes go away on their own. I have not had any further brain M.R.I.'s, so I don't know whether or not that is the case with me. I hope you won't have any further trouble out of this, just rest assured that it really is not uncommon and my current MD says that sometimes we never know why those are there. I think I know how mine came to be though. Blessings of Faith, Hope, and Love,
Faustina
Usually lesions on the brain is tired in with MS not fibro or in some cases it can be tired into Parkinson's
Depends where the lesion is located and the size. I have a penial cyst but not big enough to be removed. I had a macro adenoma on my pituitary gland that had to be removed last year Sept. 30. 2021. The side effects were and still are chronic rhinitis and constant post nasal drip, because the procedure is done through the nose. There is no correlation with Fibromyalgia and a lesion. Go see an endocrinologist and a neurosurgeon. There the best suited to help you!
