How Do You Handle Chronic Fatigue?
If I’m working I can push through the fatigue fairly okay. I’m a dog groomer so it may be the fast pace environment that makes it possible to push through. As soon as I’m off the clock, on a day off, or anywhere else I’m persistently EXHAUSTED. To where I’m physically fighting the urge to sleep or even the act of it. My doctor is referring me to a sleep study but I need something in the mean time to help.
How do you cope with fatigue at home?
You may have sleep apnea. You don't have to wait for a sleep study. The places that sell CPAP machines will give you a monitor to wear overnight to test you. The first time I was tested I didn't need one. The second time I stopped breathing 30 times an hour. That's every 2 minutes.. so I got a CPAP machine. Now I stop breathing less than twice an hour. I was sleeping 12 to 14 hours per night with a 2 hour nap. Now I sleep 6 to 7 hours, usually with no nap.
It’s good that your doctor is sending you for a sleep study but there’s a good chance it is related to fibromyalgia. Also many Fibro patients also have chronic fatigue which I also have. I completely understand and find myself fighting fatigue during the day. When I’m done work, there’s nothing left of me. Do you find more sleep helps or are you still just as tired?
