Sometimes I have this electric current (constant humming) sensation/vibration in the muscle right above the knee where it meets the knee. The size of the vibrating area is like a hand. The name of the muscle ""The vastus lateralis muscle, also known as the vastus externus, is the largest and strongest muscle in the quadriceps femoris, a group of muscles in the thigh. It's located on the outside of the thigh, connecting the kneecap and thigh bone.
I had it humming constantly for several weeks so I visited my doctor. We did endless amount of blood tests, came out normal. She sad she would to a muscle biopsy to see if I have small fiber neuropathy (SFN). The vibrating sensation comes and goes (always exactly the same area) feels like electric currents stimulating it just one push after the other, almost like the muscle is shivering. Uncomfortable but does not hurt. Very concerning when I have it. The first episode lasted about 2-3 weeks. Did not do the muscle biopsy yet.
