Who Is Tired All Of The Time?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

As soon as I get up I am very very tired. I take a nap now. I figure since I am sick and will be 63on July 21st I'm entitled to nap. It helps a little. All day long every day when I am awake I am in pain so I want to be asleep.

Of course we are tired all the time! Its a part of this disease. I never ever nap. Instead I always find something to get involved with. Right now I am making sock dolls and plan to deliver them to seniors living in nursing homes. Find a mission of good will and be of service to others. If I nap then I won't sleep at night. I have a diligent routine of waking very early and staying busy till 1pm. Then thats my rest time with watching movies or whatever. I'm terrified of muscle atrophy. The more we stay immobile then our futures are bleek. My 93 yr old mother gave up on exercise when she reached her 80's and now can't walk. I vow to not walk that same path!! Keep your mind and body strong!!

The more y'all sleep, the more tired you will be. Don't give in to napping!! Push yourself to do something... anything! Organize a drawer. Dust. Rearranged a room. ANYTHING!! Just don't go to sleep!! I've had fibromyalgia for 45 years. In the beginning I gave in to naps, but I learned that the more you sleep, the worse your pain becomes. So instead do easy gentle movements like Tia chi. Bake. Plan a meal. Give yourself a pedicures. Just don't fall asleep.
