It started a few weeks ago and told my rheumatologist but she didn’t say anything. I guess I’ll wait and ask my physiatrist. Hope any of u have tips or advice! God bless!! It hurts so bad I can’t brush my teeth & eat certain foods.

Sometimes my tongue does get sore it feels like it is too big for my mouth and it rubs on my teeth. Use orajel that should numb it up .if that doesn't work ask your doctor to give you a prescription for a numbing gel steroid paste. It is a dental paste. Prescription paste really works well if you have any ulcers in your mouth too.

I have what is called burning mouth. My tongue feels swollen but it isn’t. It is sore all the time and gets really painful lumps blisters spots I don’t know what to call them on it. The sides of my mouth gets ulcers. I have not identified anything which kicks this off. It’s there for months and then isn’t sometimes for months. As usual no treatment. I constant wash my mouth with salt water and I have a numbing mouth wash, OTC. Called Difflan. Mainly I just rinse my mouth. Sorry Irishwife yet another thing to manage. You seem to get a lot of odd symptoms like me.

You need to get a referral to an orthodontist

I have burning mouth syndrome, too. It's intermittent and is one of the fibromyalgia symptoms. Avoiding mint, cinnamon, and nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, and peppers) helps some. Acidic drinks like coffee sometimes make symptoms worse, too, and too much salt will do the same. Blessings 🙌

I have to use Burt's Bees toothpaste that is S.L.S.-free of.
Also, my Mamma had considerable trouble with her tongue like this, then a several months later she told me of some new symptoms waking her at night. I read the Merch and told her that we needed to go to her primary and ask that she test for Rheumatoid arthritis...she had it big time, and soon after had her first big flare.
I hope you will stay cool, rest, take some probiotics, avoid chemicals and nightshade vegetables. Eat for anti-inflammatory now and be strict. All of this if your physician is okay with any changes you make. Hope you feel better.
My Mamma got a physician order for 'Miracle Mouthwash' that the pharmacist mixes behind the counter. Mamma used it some, but said it numbed her out too much.
