Do Any Women Have Chronic Dry Skin?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Dover, NJ

I e got both dry/ sensitive skin. I asked google & it said that chronic dry skin can be caused by fibromyalgia. I try and drink as much water as possible but it’s hard. I have bags underneath my eyes, & put on a bit of concealer. But, I thought something was wrong with concealer cuz it keeps flaking cuz of my dry skin. Advice, please.
God bless!

My dermatologist told me 2 things. The best cream to use is CeeVee. The other thing is something I did until I got married in the 1990s. It's messy but it does help. Vasaline. Take a hot bath then put vasoline all over your body. Then I put on cotton socks, cotton pj bottoms. I uses a scrup brush to get between my shoulders & do my back. If you have long hair, wrap in a bowl, then slip a cotton night shirt on.
I know longer worry about if I get vasoline on my sheets. But if you can't sleep in all the cotton, give it at least 1 to 2 hours to soak in, and you can wipe off any extra. You will be surprised how little extra there will be. You need to do this at least 2 or 3 nights a week. It really does help.
I then use the CeeVee cream during the days. At my age I really notice the difference.
Oh, the reason why I did it when I was young. 1990s? I'd read Marilyn Monroe did it every night. And during my 20s & early 30s I had several boyfriends and a few male friends tell me I had the softest skin, just baby's. πŸ˜†

Whatever works for you. I'm 68 and most lotions and creams just sit on top of my skin..use what helps you the most. πŸ€—
