I'm 1 of those who look up symptoms. Like extremely dry eyes and severe cotton mouth =Sjogens disease. Oh, and people with Fibromyalgia are prone to getting it. My hearing has been slowly going bad for several years. I'm blond and green eyes. Up until Jan of this year I squinted even on cloudy days. My night vision has always been excellent. As I said, I've always been light sensitive it's even painful. but then 1 day I realized I was driving down the road, really bright sunny day. I hadn't put my sunglasses on. Since then I have weeks of no sunglasses then days I have to grab them. So of course, I looked up Fibromyalgia, vision changes/ loss and hearing loss. I keep waiting for it to say NO . But there it was in in the National Library of Medicine. Fibromyalgia can cause hearing & vision problems. Fibro can also increase chances for diabetes.
I wasn't diagnosed until 2003 at 48 after going thru breast cancer. When I looked it up the other things IBS, TMJ, Migraines ect. It was like a check list. The fatigue increase a few years before had made me slow down. But my muscle pain, which I'd thought for years was caused by " you play, you pay". And I did play. My doctor said cancer meds had brought it out worse.
It was n8ce to know that all those times I'd had a touch of the flu, so ache I couldn't get out of bed was actually the Fibromyalgia. But even in 2003 there were doctors who believed Fibromyalgia was all in a woman's head.
And it amazes me how a disease that people say, OH OK so your muscles hurt? You have chronic migraines which in the past few years they've found can cause isometric strokes. Oh you have a feeling of exhaustion? Oh, did you realize the medications you take are causing your brain to be foggy? Or wow, did you realize that being in constant overdrive from chronic illnesses makes you more likely to get dementia or Alzeimer disease. This disease is connected to so many other diseases & health problems, but you have to search everything out. It's like, Fibromyalgia no we don't know what causes it but it's not like it's a fatal disease.
And sadly, it's hard for doctors to even keep up with all the connections.
Sorry, had a rant moment.

Yes. It's like it goes in and out. Went through a phase (about 2 - 3 weeks) where everything was so blurry it was hard to work or drive. By the time I got to the eye doctor, they were fine 🙄 Last night the words on the TV were doubled, with my glasses! So annoying 🤦🏾
