I get tightness and chest pains. It’s the muscles across my chest, area between ribs. It’s usually when I have a flair up in back and shoulder pain. Yes, it feels like a heart attack…including shortness of breath and pain down one arm. My doctor has called for EKG’s twice. (First time in my 40’s and again in my mid 50’s.) He’s suggested some treating of localized pain (ice pack, gentle massage) to help me decide if it’s Fibromyalgia or something more severe. Also - first step when chest pain is growing is removing my brassiere. I’m a senior citizen, and trying to support larger breasts is constrictive. (They call it a “minimizer” for a reason!)

In my 60’s - I check my blood pressure daily and use a health tracker watch to monitor pulse, respiration, exercise and sleep. I also mark my pain level in my calendar - good and bad days.

I get palpitations Lucy and today been on a bad day I've had them on off all day..my strangest is..whenever I laugh I actually get very sharp pain in my chest, so I actually try stop myself laughing..and it happens even if its just a light laugh if you know what I mean..I try to avoid anything that's likely to cause hysterics or it really would hurt..sending hugs. Yes. I get this leading up to menstruation like clockwork.

Feels very heavy, like my lungs and chest are under heavy wet blankets. My neck also feels like a pressure, almost like I can’t clear my throat.
My breathing is not restricted, but feels like it should be.

I also have the rib pain and burning stabbing sensation from costochondritis, but not when I’m experiencing this. This is different.

Sorry you’re hurting Lucy. Big hugs 🤗
