How Do You Define A Fibromyalgia Flare? Are There People Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia That Have Times Without Pain?
We hear of Remission, I define that as no pain. I assumed a "flare" was when fibromyalgia came back. Curious because Ive never not been in pain since my symptoms originially developed in 2012. I am also wondering how others labeled w/ disease live their life? I wonder how many of us have something else wrong that was missed. How can you just not have pain one day for like a day, month, or even years? & then fibro come back? Also what changed for your during those times? Were you healthier, more… read more
I personally have not heard of someone in remission to the extent of experiencing no pain. There is no clear explanation to account for our pain. I have periods of perhaps an hour where my pain is minimal and then for no reason it kicks in again. I define a flare as when my symptoms go from just about manageable to unbearable. Also certain aspects of my fibro might flare. At the moment my IBS has kicked off for no obvious reason, I do think stress is always an underlying factor. It’s good to try to understand fibro Holly, I’m not sure that you will find a clear cut answer. Take care.
Nope never without pain - can be mild all over or bad bad bad
Same as Jannette. I have meds to deal with these differences.
