Has Anyone Managed To Their Fibro Completely Drug Free? Been On Gabapentin And Cymbalta And Worry About The Effect On Brain And Body.
I’ve always been against such types of medication from a very un clinical belief that the side effects will probably cause as much of an issue or even more so than any perceived benefit. Like the others above, I stick with supplements and have done so for many years. I have a good strength multivitamin complex, around 300 mgs of elemental Magnesium, 4000iu of Vitamin D3 with 100 micrograms of K2 and 2 grams of Omega 3 fish oil. Like wRen2 I try to eat nutritious food, keeping my protein at around 1 gram per pound of body weight and sufficient fats. I also take 5 grams of creatine monohydrate daily, something I took when weightlifting and still do for its benefits to boost mental ability (I need all the help I can for my brain fog 🙂) and I make sure I stay well hydrated each and every day.
Same as Steve. I take some supplements to help with inflammation.
Other than that I focus on nutritious foods, myofascial release, cardio, and strength training.
ForEach of us fibromyalgia is not exactly the same. For myself I have bad reactions to most medications ,so I’ve been avoiding them for the most part so far. I’m using Tylenol and CBD at the moment. Plus, I have an infrared heating pad. That is wonderful.. It’s not ideal and I can’t do a lot of things. I hope you find the answer for you.
I use topicals. Biofreeze, ralli ,icy Hot, and Arctic ice. I alternate these topicals. A doctor told me gabapentin can cause long-term memory loss.
Thanks David! I’ve been weaning myself all meds and researching supplements to add to the vitamin D and B12 I already take. I’ve had 2 total knee replacement surgeries within last 2 months and just want to get back to clean everything.. diet, exercise and mental clarity.
