Low Vitamin D & Fibromyalgia
By Stephen Christensen
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by muscular pain, headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, morning stiffness and mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Scientists at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, report that fibromyalgia, which has been diagnosed in children, adolescents and adults of both sexes, affects about 4 percent of the U.S. population. Low vitamin D levels may contribute to musculoskeletal pain in some individuals who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
it seems to be something common in fibro patients; i know i have to take vit d and magnesium supplements; i also take 'flora' -one of the best strong prebiotics, drink a 'greens' enzyme powder mix, omega 3 supplement; and started taking d ribose
every time I have my blood work done my Vitamin D is low. Don't know if this is common with Fibro or not but I think it is.
For myself I didn't find it helped.

Autoimmune diseases
Vitamin D may reduce inflammation and help prevent autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and Crohn's disease. However, further high-quality research is needed to confirm these results.
Fibromyalgia (long-term, body-wide pain)
Vitamin D has been studied for the treatment of fibromyalgia, but evidence is lacking in support of its effectiveness. Further study is needed.
