The pain management doctors i was working for mainly treat that (nerve pain/sciatica) with nerve blocks and cortisone injections. They find that to work best. But there are a few other things too like TENS units that could be tried if needed. It's been proven narcotics don't help those of us with fibro (figured right, we hurt the most but can't get help from the real pain killers) but some muscle relaxers can help sometimes. The docs also sent patients with the nerve pain like you're all having for physical therapy with people familiar with this particular type of problem. Any of you suffering from this that hasn't seen a pain medicine doctor i think you should, you should never suffer in silence, they can help you. ☺

I have this. Lately, I have tried a cream called My Pain Away Fibro Cream. I saw an ad for it and googled it. You can only get it at CVS. I have gotten to the point where I try most things with skeptical mind, lol. I had my husband rub it on my hips before bed. My hips are really bad and I have terrible knots in them. Anyway, the cream has helped! I still wake up stiff and achy, but I have slept through the night since I started this routine. He also rubs it on my lower back. It is a little pricey, but I would give it a try. I hope you get some relief!

I seem to be suffering from the same thing although it feels more like my lower back on the left side and shoots down my left leg, sometimes also my right. Battling to do much as it hurts standing, walking and lying down

hi everyone. This is somewhat related.About three years ago I started to get shooting pains in my right groin.I went to an orthopedic surgeon who took an X-ray.I have narrowing in my right hip.before that I had cortisone shots in my lower back.I did not get that much relief so choose not to go that route again. An X-ray Ray can only show bone but I think a Ct scan or MRI might show muscle.I know sciatica travels down to the butt area.Your medical providers can tell you more.

Hi, yes I have this horrible pain in my hips also. It is horrible at night. I lay on my right side, hurts to much, turn on left side, that hurts to much, turn on back still hurts. can't win. Then just get up. There goes my sleep. Dr. said x-ray show arthritis in hips. :(
