Anyone Have A Tilt Table Test?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I only lasted 4 minutes before I fainted. My blood pressure was stable, but my heart rate went from 94bpm to 140bpm. I was told I may have a type of the POTS syndrome. I thought that was a disorder primarily affecting thin young women. Anyone else with this?

What is postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)?

POTS is a fast heart rate (tachycardia) that starts after you stand up. This can suddenly happen as long as 10 minutes after you stand.

With POTS, the body does not control blood pressure or heart rate as it should after you stand up. So for a brief time, you may not get enough blood to your brain. This can make you feel dizzy and lightheaded. You might faint. Sitting or lying down helps you feel better.

For many people with POTS, fatigue and other symptoms may make it hard to keep up with daily living.

Whether you have mild or severe POTS symptoms, there are things you can do to help control them. (from webmd) and I dont believe I have it

I had one many years ago that diagnosed my heart pauses where my heart would completely stop and then restart when I was completely flat. I then had my first pacemaker implanted which has just been replaced after 9 years service. Don't spend time worrying about the whys and wherefores, they still don't know what causes my heart problems. Make sure your cardiologist takes some time to explain to you what's going on and what the treatment plan is and trust them to do their best to ensure your symptoms are controlled as much as possible xxx

My neurologist sent me to a cardiologist for the tilt table test. I lasted 4 minutes before fainting. My heart rate went from 94 to 140 in those 4 minutes, now i have to see another specialist. I was told I might have a type of the POTS syndrome

No, but I get syncope easily if my sinuses are flared up from the weather or allergies.
