Help With Neck Shoilder Pain Bad Flare Up?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Killeen, TX

I haven't had a flare up this bad in years. I was getting trigger point injections then to help. I'm on new insurance and not established with any doctors in my network. I have most of my arears of pain under control but I can't get my neck and shoulders to calm down. I have taken several hot showers. But the pain is almost unbearable, I tried meditating, sleep, Advil. Does anyone know how I can get a little relief?

I've got a thera cane. Suggested by the pain clinic. Used it the first time there and ordered one the same day. With it you can massage any one point that is hurting with as much pressure as you can stand. It has helped me so much that I bought another one that was shaped a bit differently so I could reach more spots. I keep it next to my chair so I can use it whenever I need it. If you type in thera cane on your search engine, a whole page of them comes up.

There is a catalog that has a tool called a body creamer. Essentially a handle with a applicator for appling cream or oils to places you can't reach. It's called Gold Violin. You can go to their online catalog at: www.goldviolin.com. In the mean time if you have a wooden spoon or any spoon with a long handle, wrap an old wash wrag around it and tie it securely, put your cream on it and apply. Be creative (:
Hope you feel better soon.

I have a a deep thumping massager made by obusforme. It has a long handle that allows it to get to muscles on your back and anywhere else. It's great as it has different settings that allow you to change speed and force. I do my whole body with it sometimes. Loosens up the muscles. Microwaveable magic bag for the neck does wonders.

I typically will use my Epsom salt lotion or bengay lotion and then top it off with my bed buddy that thing you heat up in the microwave that is like a long tubular object with the handles on each side and wrapped around my neck and the heat being moist seems to get down in there pretty good most times.
