Members connected over experiencing numbness and prickling sensations in their legs, with several sharing that paresthesia (burning, tingling, numbness, or pins-and-needles feelings) can stem from many causes including fibromyalgia, back injuries, or compressed spinal discs. Several members suggested that an MRI might help rule out spinal issues as the source, especially for those with a history of back pain or childhood injuries, and encouraged following up with doctors to investigate the root cause. A recurring theme was the shared relief in putting a name to these confusing sensations and the importance of seeking medical guidance to understand what's happening in the body.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I'm wondering if you have had any back injuries or conditions which might be causing the radiculopathy you are experiencing in your legs? I agree that there are many possible causes. An MRI would be a fairly simple procedure to find out if your numbness is caused a compromised spinal disc. At least it could be ruled out as a cause. Hope this helps.

I have always had pain in my lower back for as long as I can remember and if I press on my lower back the pain is terrible and feels deep down inside that part also goes numb as hips , never thought about injuries but had loads as a child was always doing silly things and getting hurt but the one thing that sticks in my mind is I was about 10 and in our Hitchens we had a stool that was about 31/2 foot high tall square wooden thing no back to it .well was sitting on that and I must have moved or lent forward and the whole thing slipped away from me and I Landed on my bum straight down with legs both out straight I rember I couldn't breathe as it hurt so much at the bottom of my spine !!' Wonder if I done some damage ??? Thank you might look into that cheers xx
