Trigger Point Injections

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Early, TX

Has anyone had TPI (Trigger Point Injections)? Does it work? How long does it last? We are traveling to Ohio at the end of the month for a wedding and I'm thinking of asking my dr for these so I won't hurt as bad there.

I tried every form of injection available. I ended up getting a pain pump installed and it has helped my pain level drop from a 10+ to about 2 or 3.

I was getting them every month in my back, it didn't help me too much, it was like 6 different shots at a time. Some people have great success with them. Hope it helps if you decide to get them.

I've had them in the base of my skull for my migraines and also in my bulging discs, they made everything worse for me and I would never do them again. They were steroid injections...

You may want to research the long term effect of the medications they use in the injections. I knew someone who got them that said that it actually cause some damaging side-effects over time. Everyone is different so they may work great especially for a short time - if that is what you are thinking.
