Do You Suffer With 'head Crowding'?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

By 'crowding' I mean your head becoming so full to the point that you can no longer function properly. This could be because your in a busy room/place where more than one conversation is taking place, or television or music is too loud, maybe giving instruction/information by more than one person at a time. If your a parent or grandparent, the kiddies all trying to speak to you at once.

The over stimulation effect you're referring to has been an issue for me for years. To much noise in the surrounding area almost kicks my fight or flight instinct in. It also causes me to be overwhelmed with fatigue. I avoid it as much as possible, but with an Aspie daughter who needs constant stimulation, my house isn't always a refuge. Going to town, large gatherings, music, TV even, can set me off. I'm quite happy to sit in silence, yet at night I need "white noise," to distract my mind from racing. Weird huh! Xx

Totally understand, sometimes it's almost like I go into a trance like state because it's so overwhelming. Even smells can affect me. Then at night when I'm in bed, it's like my brain won't switch off, it doesn't matter what I try, it's like having no off switch... This disease has so much to answer for. Hope all you lovely people are having a good day, as we know how prescious they are. Big hugs and kisses to you all xxxxx

Yes. Fibro causes one to be very sensitive to bright lights and noise. That's one of several reasons I prefer to stay at home most of the time.
