I have Costochondritis. I often cannot wear a bra or any other clothing that is tight around my rib cage. Stress is a huge trigger, too. Target sells a shelf tankini in the sleepwear department that I wear most of the time. It holds the girls still. :)

@A MyFibroTeam Member I actually found alot of info and help from a support group on facebook....if you search for costocondritis you should find it. Sometimes docs are not correct in what they say...thats why they are "practicing" lol I always say to listen to your body and trust your gut. I have learned more from talking with other patients and sufferers than I have from docs. These doctors don't feel what we feel and they are no where near knowing everything. Costo is triggered by inflammation and trauma. Mine got worse after I tried to wear one of those waist trainers (not knowing what I had). Def anxiety can make it worse...think of it this way...whenever your ribs and lungs have to work harder, expand more, the inflammation in the cartilage gets worse causing pain. And it takes forever (it feels) for it to go back to normal. Sometimes having a couch or heavy sneezing can flare it up.

wow **ladies, this is crazy since the weather has been colder. i am having this squeezing in lungs but i have another chest pain as well so i never know what is what. i know mines not anxxiety there is a difference in having continuous pain rather then being short of breath during a panic attack. you can't trust all doctors that is for sure. always listen to your own body!!

Yes, I thought I had a heart attack and went to the hospital. They said I had an anxiety attack and sent me to have further tests that all came back good. Although I was diagnosed with asthma. I'm always short of breath.
In my fibromyalgia book says it's nerves and muscle. Trigger points of pain.

Hi I suffer from rib pain too at times it feels like I am being kicked in the ribs it comes and goes. My doctor checked it out and couldn't find the cause. The only thing that helps is Norco. I try not to take it too often because I know that the more you take it the more you need it. Deep breathing helps. Sending you gentle hugs.
