All Over Body Tremors

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had five episodes in the last two weeks where I shake uncontrollably all over my body and start stuttering. My Dr has no idea what it is and said to talk to my pain management specialist but I don't have an appointment with him until next month. Sometimes the episodes for hours where the shaking will calm down but then flare up again, all I can do is lie down until it passes, afterwards I am left exhausted and have a headache. Does anyone else get this? I am getting worried about it. I… read more

I have have experienced that for the last 17 years. It can be extremely violent or just mild. I spent a week in a seizure clinic to be to it is not epilepsy. They have been diagnosed as pseudo seizures. No one has been able to tell me what causes them but I know they flare up as a reaction to any type of stress on me or my body. It can be mental or physical. A change in weather can cause them. A neurologist recently told me a majority of people who experience this have some type of abuse in their background and a medication has been developed specifically for it. Unfortunately, it did not work for me but might for you. Sorry, I cannot remember the name or find the bottle. I have learned to try to relax when they start and take very slow deep breaths. They can be very painful and have even caused me to have whiplash. Good luck and sending gentle hugs.

I don't mean to scare you but it sounds almost like epilepsey BUT I am not a doctor and I am pretty sure you doctor thought of a lot of the possibilities. I would call your Pain Management office, tell them what is happening and see if they can work you in or put you on a list for cancellations. Actually ask to talk to the doctor's nurse and that might get you in quicker.

I get that sometimes, but my doctor says they are panic attacks. It's horrible and scary. Sorry you feel like that. I can relate.
