Yes, I have it. There are times I can't taste for a week or two. My doctor had never heard of it and said it had nothing to do with fibro or Lupus, but I know better. She did suggest taking Vitamin
B6 which I did and there has been some improvement.

YES. Gradual onset then full blown loss of smell and taste. Saw a nose, ear and throat (ENT) first. No cause. Also had a thorough dental checkup. No cause. Next scheduling a neurologist. Bet the outcome is the same. Just like fibromyalgia, no causes are medically found. However, don't give up. I am learning to adjust my environment, like you. If they find a cause, I'll let you know.

@A MyFibroTeam Member yes! Smells seem so strong I've mistaken them for awful things as well! We bought cheap coffee pods for our Keurig and my husband had to throw them out after using two because I swore it smelled like skunk. No one else thought it smelled that way but me. And I have two dogs who get baths and breath freshener regularly because I can walk onto our main level and smell something doggy awful even though no one else does. I have teenage girls who have to watch which body sorays they use too. I feel bad but my sense of smell is all out of whack now.

Alot of my food and drink smells and taste funny so there's lots of foods i can't eat it doesn't get any better doctor says it's from my gerd but they haven't found anything that makes it better

my sense of taste went out the window. I also have sjorgrens syndrome which adds to the sense of taste deterioration. I am sensitive to smell also. I need cool air to breathe properly. I have 2 smokers in the house and it has gotten worse for me. I am constantly turning on a fan wherever i am even if it is a bit chilly. I have a cold right now and am suffering. headache, coughing, congestion. all i want to do is stay in bed but lying down makes me cough more.
