Cool compresses to soothe sis. Yeah sounds like a reaction. A paste of baking soda also helps soothe.
Don't apply anything else as you could get a double reaction.

@A MyFibroTeam Member my Dr prescribed Diclofenac tropical gel. I told her I needed something for pain in my arms that I could rub on like lotion. I'm very sensitive to everything. This works. Its Basically ibuprofen in a gel for pain. I love it.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have had many reactions to chemicals. My problem is two fold.My mother had an auto immune disease.Scleroderma.It,among others in the immune spectrum, influence your bodys reaction to hereditary responses and external influences, like chemicals. If anyone has worked around chemicals for an extended amount of time ,the body builds up a response to protect it.If the chemical overwhelms the bodys immune response ,it starts to break down and eventually fails. In my mothers response, she had worked extensively with silica during her youth in the glass factory and while pregnant with me.I believe part of my immune response to chemicals is from her lengthly exposure to those chemicals.I also had second hand smoke from cigarettes for some 20 years while growing up.That is enough to set the immune system haywire.
I have the lungs of a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker.I never smoked. As a result,I cannot go down the grocery isle with soap or cleaning articels.I have to use free and gentle clothes cleaning soap and absolutely no arosols in the house at any time.I cant wear anything but white cotton and also have a latex allergy.Theres lots of latex in elastic. No bandaids (plastic),only cloth. No generic drugs, only brand. Now that's a ca-ching.No wool, nylon or polyester. In the house,no vinyls, wood composites or paint with strong chemicals.I soak in a tub with baking soda;a detox natural chemical.Cant use espsom salts.
As a young child, there were yearly xrays offered to all who came and afterwards a sugar cube with the polio vaccine was given. The xray was probably for tuberculosis, which ran rampant back then.(1950's)As a result,my thyroid had a goiter, and now has many calcified nodules.A yearly ultrasound is done to detect if any have grown.I believe the thyroid is a very important window for the immune system.regular labs should be done along with inflammation factors in the labs to include total cholesterol, triglicerides, and C-reactive protein. Those are markers for inflammation which is an early signal the body is gearing up the immune system to protect.
In most cases it is a elimination process.I have been on a long research travel to reduce the reactions in my body.Diet is also important. No processed food and little salt.fresh veges and fruits a minimal red meat.Lots of fish;wild raised and caught.Since I had a job working with CDC(Center for Disease Control) I have been on a journey to educate myself to maximize my bodies health. Each person is different so experiment.I cant use vasilene intensive care or baby oil.Too much petrolium products.Let me know how it goes.take care.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I used Voltaren in the past but had to stop due to side effects. Read where you use organic Essentials oils for pain. Wanted to share what I have been using - (Forces Of Nature for Muscle Pain)
They have essential oil for other conditions as well.....Headaches, Insomnia, etc. - I haven't used those but if they help others that would be great. I just got another bottle of the one for Muscle Pain. I add 3 drops to some unscented Lubriderm lotion and rub into painful area...it helps me....thought I would pass this along...Take care, Hope your day is going well. Linda

I have excema due to fibro and am also allergic to latex and environmental allergies. don't eat red meat and eat a lot of fish and vegies, it seems to help with the ibs. lLatex allergies make me swell and dreadful hives appear. Also i have experinmented with different creams and lotions for the feet which are dreadfully dry. it's bad enough to have fibro and the other problems associated with it.
