I have been dealing with Fibro for over 20 years. I used to have a awesome job in Atlanta with great insurance so I went to several pain clinics and Emory University. You name it, I've been on it. I am wondering if ANYBODY has had any success on Effexor XR??? I am a medical researcher and have been on Tramadol since quitting methadone 10 years. I realize BOTH work on Serotonin and Norephenine. I have only a few Tramadol I have been titrating off of and just took 37.5mg effexor. I'm desperate and… read more

Tramadol they say is not addicting. That's why they give it to u. I have stopped taking tramadol cause it didn't seem like it helped after taking it 3 times a day for 2 years. No problem. Now I take it only on bad days it seems to help better. Only bad days . I deal with the pain. So use to it just part of my life.

Effexor left me with lifelong tremors. I was on it for about 6 months to a yr, 15 yrs ago or longer. Now still to this day I have tremors that weren't there before the effexor. Drs told me that the family it is in can cause it. I now cant have anything in that family.

I been taking it overkill, even days I didn't need it, then run out. I am going to start taking it as needed only like you when I get my refill, cause the withdrawals are one bad flu feeling, been there from other meds, so used to it.. Thanks so much for your reply

I currently take this for fibro myself. Truthfully, its effective for mood but I find it pretty much useless for pain. My doctor recently doubled my dosage in hopes of helping my aniety and added another medication to aid in pain relief. Be careful about missing dosages and make sure to wean back off, withdrawl is narly!
