It will only work on nerve pain as gapapentin is not a pain killer, but reduces the wakefulness of nerve so they send less signals to the brain. If it's not nerve pain, they won't help.

My anxiety/depression was getting worse so my Dr is weaning me off the Cymbalta and putting me on lexapro and wants to increase my gabapentin from once a day to 3x day now.

I take gabapentin for peripheral nerve pain in my spine and legs. I take it at night and only 100mg. If I start taking more than 100mg, I start getting anxiety/depression symptoms.
