Mary, the stiffness & numbness means poor blood circulation. You've got to pat yourself everywhere to get the blood flowing or do some easy exercises in the morning. I've posted some easy exercises on the site.
See those 3 straight lines on the top left. Click then go to Q&A, click, in search type exercises. Scroll down till you see LisaCabrey ask me @
SiuViv about exercises. First part head/neck exercises helped me get rid of my fibro fog & vertigo for good. They have to be done DAILY. Second part is to relieve the stiffness to improve blood circulation. Once your blood circulation is better the numbness will disappear. I used to have them too. Good luck & if you got questions, you know how to get me.

The left side of my body is terrible from back surgery and nerve damage. I have back pain, numbness, sciatic nerve pain, numbness, tingling, neck pain, my face goes numb....the whole nine yards. (I could go on and on)

You should be really careful with numbness as it might lead to mini strokes. Keep moving, shake or wiggle your body like a worm to get the blood flowing.

I know this is an old post but maybe this can help someone. I use to get numbness head to toe on my left side as well, I normally don't like to suggest medication because I feel like the more we take the more damage we are doing to ourselves, but allow me to explain how I realized taking duloxetine really helps me. I was taking Duloxetine for about 4 months and really didn't think it was helping with any of my symptoms except maybe keeping me from being in a deep depression due to my life change in pain. Well I had a problem with my insurance getting a new dosage filled and went 2 weeks with out it and symptoms that I hadn't had in months were coming back I was thinking it was a flare up but after a few days I realized it might be the Duloxetine being out of my system. Symptoms including numbnes, tingling, burning, pin sticking, crawling skin, pain from clothes or blanket touch and veins bulging. I started the Duloxetine again and it took almost 2months before these symptoms to go away again but I can say they are gone, they sneak up from time to time but never last long mainly minutes and sometime a few time during the day and maybe once every other week or so. I exercise as often as I can and am pretty active not nearly as much as before as I would like to be due to other symptoms but at least I don't have to deal with some of the symptoms on a daily basis. Good luck and many hugs.

Thank you it helps to know I'm not the only one that has experienced this. It's hard to tell what symptoms go with what ailment. It's crazy and scary!
