Belly Flare Up?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Peterborough, ON

Hello hive!
Every so often I experience sharp pains and significant bloating in my abdomen. It normally lasts for about 3 days.
Does anyone else experience this? Would this be considered a flare up? I know there are a lot of nerves in the intestines...

Yes I had to change my food. Ie carbs, bread, zero pizza to an eat clean vegetables and fruit. That helped!

Thanks Nane. I’ll do that. Maybe there is something I can take for those particular spasms? So painful. 😡

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member it is very common for people with fibromyalgia to also have irritable bowel syndrome. IBS. Most can improve their symptoms by being careful with what the eat. I can't have anything carbonated and avoid dairy. Other people avoid gluten and others restrict even more. Keep a journal to see if you can link your bouts with something you are eating, and look at IBS in question section to follow threads with other ideas for you.
