Lower Back, Leg Pain And Unable To Walk. Fibro Or Withdawl Or Something Else?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am coming off of oxycodone (20mg 2x day) and cocodamol (30/500mg 2x4 a day) for endocrine tests. Today was my first day without any (I have been weening myself for the past week with manageable side effects) and I woke up and couldn't move. My mum had to help me to the bathroom as I couldn't walk on my own. I had severe lower back pain (10/10, no exaggeration) in my lower back radiating into my legs. My legs kept going out from under me and I am in agony. Funny thing is my fibro started as… read more

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I get the severe pain in my lower back and down my legs and have to have help to get out of bed and can barely walk have to hold onto walls, furniture whatever I can to get from 1 place or another. Usually just to bathroom, kitchen then back to recliner. When I get like that it's when there is a weather front coming, or is foggy out. I am in severe pain till either the fog clears or the front passes. I had withdrawals before and it was more of bad sweats and very very bad mood changes. So I say the pain in your back is fibro more so then withdrawals. Hugs and Prayers

My back and legs flare just like that. You should talk to doctor as you have leg weakness but it's probably the pain doing it. Feels a bit like sciatica but in both legs. Hot water bottles are the only thing apart from pain killers that help. When you are up to it go swimming. Just float on your back or do gentle back stroke. It really does work.

Haven't experienced the withdrawal but I do experience exteme lower back pain and when this happens i am unable to walk due to my legs giving out on me. This is the most intense pain I get and usually means im bedridden. I dont know if its fibro or not.

Pain radiating to your back may be an injury to your back and not fibro. Has your doctor done an MRI to rule out spinal problems?
